The St. Miguel Febres Cordero FSC Neurodevelopmental Center of the De La Salle University Medical Center was established in 2003. As the neurodevelopmental center experienced rapid growth, there emerged a pressing demand for expanded training of developmental pediatricians to meet escalating needs. Answering this call were two founding members of the Philippine Society of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (PSDBP) and the NDC, Dr. Joel Lazaro and Dr. Ma. Rochelle B. Pacifico. Together with Dr. Madeleine Grace M. Sosa and the dynamic DLSUMC Department of Pediatrics, they established the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics fellowship training program in January 2016.

Since its inception, this three-year program has successfully graduated numerous candidates, all achieving a 100% pass rate in the PSDBP certifying exam. Furthermore, the program has made a substantial impact on De La Salle University Medical Center’s mission to become the foremost referral center for children with developmental and behavioral diversities. Presently, the program includes trainees from varied backgrounds and regions throughout the Philippines, spanning Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, Bicol, and Davao.
