Check your Developmental Pediatrician
Our attention has been called by concerned parents and partners in the care of children and adolescents with special needs that there are certain groups who offer developmental/neurodevelopmental assessments and management, while claiming that their reports can be used for government benefits or official documents.
This PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT serves to inform parents and caregivers of children and adolescents who may have developmental concerns on the following:
- Our society nor any of our members are NOT, in any way, associated with these organizations offering neurodevelopmental assessments as aggressively advertised on social media platforms.
- These groups are not certified by our society, the Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, nor is their alleged practice regulated by us.
We are a group of licensed, board certified pediatricians who have undergone additional years of formal subspecialty training in accredited hospitals to specialize in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics.
We are board certified by the Philippine Pediatric Society and the Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, ensuring that every child we see receives care that is safe, evidence-based, and guided by expertise.
We hold our members to the highest standard of comprehensive assessment through the provision of thorough and personalized care for children and adolescents with special needs. This means taking time to understand each child’s unique situation and working closely with their families, teachers, and therapists to create a plan that is holistic, consistent, and focused on real progress over time.
⚠️ Exercise Caution and Verify Credentials
We encourage everyone to be careful when choosing where to get developmental assessments. Just like how you “check the label” before buying something important, please take time to check your doctor’s credentials. Make sure the professional you consult is properly trained and certified to care for your child.
